Today I finally got some time to go mountain biking out here in Colorado. I decided to head down to Devils Backbone, a county owned piece of land with some great single-track for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The 6.3 mile round trip was no race track. Even on the first half, where the trail was not too technical, I kept my speed down in an effort to avoid disturbing any rattle snakes working on their tans. Fortunately, despite the many signs put up to warn people of their presence, I did not see any on my trek. I did however see some beautiful scenery. The ascent up these hills marked the beginning of the more technical part of the trail.
