In a demonstration of the government's willingness to spend taxpayers dollars on frivolous pursuits that benefit only a small portion of the population, a really sweet trail, known as the Blue Sky Trail, has just been opened up in Larimer county connecting Devils Backbone to Coyote Ridge to Horsetooth Reservoir. As I happen to be one of the relative minority of taxpayers who have gotten out to enjoy this trail, you won't hear me complaining. Despite the fact that much of the trail is still loose sand, it makes a great 20 mi ride there and back, with some sweet scenery and great rocky descents. Below is an image of the fate of some less forutonate traveler of the trail.
