In a demonstration of the government's willingness to spend taxpayers dollars on frivolous pursuits that benefit only a small portion of the population, a really sweet trail, known as the Blue Sky Trail, has just been opened up in Larimer county connecting
Devils Backbone to Coyote Ridge to
Horsetooth Reservoir. As I happen to be one of the relative minority of taxpayers who have gotten out to enjoy this trail, you won't hear me complaining. Despite the fact that much of the trail is still loose sand, it makes a great 20 mi ride there and back, with some sweet scenery and great rocky descents. Below is an image of the fate of some less forutonate traveler of the trail.

This shot is taken from Lory State Park. It was a long hard ride to make it up to this point, but the view made it worth it. That, and the ride down. In the distance is Horsetooth Reservoir, and beyond that is Fort Collins.
Vedauwoo is a really cool park in between Cheyenne and Laramie. The single track trail is only about 6 or 7 miles, but a really fun and beautiful ride.
This Rock might as well have had a sign on it saying "Climb me." There was a pretty good view on top of it, as it was at the top of the hill, and as tall as most of the trees around it (see above pic).
